CAD Technician / Survey Technologist

360 Land Surveying is currently looking for a CAD Technician / Survey Technologist to join our Vancouver team of Geomatics Engineers, British Columbia Land Surveyors (BCLS), Canada Land Surveyors (CLS), and Survey Technologists. We seek a motivated CAD Technician to produce accurate survey drawings and process geospatial data. In this key role, you will draft legal surveys, topographic maps, and construction layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit, convert GPS/total-station field data and UAV/LiDAR point clouds into digital models (DTM/orthophotos), and collaborate closely with our survey crews and project managers to deliver high-quality results on deadline.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Technology, Drafting, or a related field,
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant survey CAD experience (required),
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit; ReCap experience is an asset,
- Experience in processing survey field data, point clouds, and 3D scan data,
- Ability to interpret survey field returns, architectural drawings, and engineering sketches,
- Knowledge of drawing conventions (e.g., line weights) used in production drawings,
- BIM experience is considered an asset,
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Create and process survey data from field observations, paper, and PDF/IFC drawings,
- Prepare legal survey plans, as-built drawings, and construction survey documentation using Civil 3D and Revit,
- Analyze 3D scan data and point clouds, producing detailed CAD and Revit models,
- Process topographic and remeasure surveys to calculate volumes for civil and highway projects,
- Prepare quality assurance reports summarizing project activities and findings,
- Validate output accuracy through internal management reviews,
- Understand and apply building codes, regulations, and industry standards,
- Provide technical support and guidance to fellow drafting team members as needed,
- Other survey office tasks as required.
Compensation:

Survey Assistant
360 Land Surveying is looking for a Survey Assistant to join our team. This is a great position for someone who wants to learn something new and advance towards a Survey Crew Lead or Land Surveyor in Training (LST) position.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Crew Lead in fieldwork for legal, engineering and construction surveys,
- Setting up and operating a total station, 3D laser scanner and GPS,
- Keeping work vehicle and equipment organized and safe,
- Preparation of field data for uploading/downloading, keeping field notes when required,
- Communicating with the team via phone and email.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record,
- Physically fit; ability to conduct fieldwork involving physical tasks,
- Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone,
- Motivated and detail-oriented when completing work assignments,
- Experience or post-secondary education in surveying is an asset,
- Knowledge and experience in performing legal surveys in the Lower Mainland is an asset,
- Knowledge of Leica equipment, both GPS and Total Station, is an asset.
Compensation:
The wage range for this position is $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience, skill sets, and qualifications. Project Manager / LSIT / BCLS
Apply for This Position360 Land Surveying is looking for a Project Manager to join our team. This is an ideal position for an LST in the final stages of obtaining a BCLS commission, a practicing BCLS, or a professional Land Surveyor from another province eligible to become BCLS.
Responsibilities
- Communicating with clients, consultants, and various government authorities
- Quality control of field returns, survey calculations, drawings, and final deliverables
- Mentoring team members and providing advice and guidance on various practice topics
- Signing and preparing plans for submission to the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC
- Detailed checking of topographic surveys, legal surveys, and other deliverables
- Managing projects: preparing estimates, planning, and maintaining budgets
- Communicating tasks to team members and scheduling work
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing survey projects and a team
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in person
- Strong software skills and ability to solve technical problems
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience performing legal surveys in the Lower Mainland is an asset
- Knowledge of Leica equipment (LiDAR scanners, GPS, and total station) is an asset
- Knowledge of Civil 3D, Star*Net, ReCap, and Cyclone is an asset
Compensation
We offer a starting salary of $110,000–$150,000 per year based on experience and qualifications, along with extended health benefits and opportunities to attend formal training specific to the land surveying industry. Survey Crew Chief
Apply for This Position360 Land Surveying is looking for an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our Vancouver team of Geomatics Engineers, British Columbia Land Surveyors (BCLS), and Survey Technologists. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field professional ready to take on greater leadership responsibility in a dynamic, technology-forward surveying environment.
The Survey Crew Chief leads field crews across a variety of survey types, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency on every project. You will work closely with project managers and BCLS to coordinate field operations and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Leading field crews on legal, engineering, and construction surveys using robotic total station and/or GNSS
- Overseeing safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry standards on all field assignments
- Supervising and mentoring Survey Assistants and Crew Leads
- Reviewing and verifying field data before submission to the office team
- Maintaining and managing survey equipment and vehicles
- Communicating daily with the project manager and BCLS regarding project progress and priorities
- Coordinating fieldwork schedules and logistics across multiple concurrent projects
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of field surveying experience, including crew leadership
- Post-secondary education in surveying, geomatics, or a related field
- Strong communication and leadership skills, both in person and over the phone
- Physically fit; ability to conduct fieldwork involving physical tasks
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Knowledge and experience performing legal surveys in the Lower Mainland is an asset
- Knowledge of the cadastral system of British Columbia is an asset
- Proficiency with Leica equipment (robotic total station, GNSS, laser scanners) is an asset
